A granddaughter in southeastern China’s Fujian province shared a timelapse video which shows a day in the life of her 95-year-old grandfather. The one-minute clip has gone viral on Douyin, a social media platform in China. Through posting the footage online, she wants to encourage people to visit their families more often.

However, make your best efforts to spend as much time as you can with parents and grandparents. Nothing can replace them, and after 11 years I still grieve. There is a hole in my soul that can never be filled.

We live in joint family. My grandma died last year. She was in bed for a whole year before cause she fell in bathroom so doctor told us she won''t be able to walk now. She was 90+ years old so her vision was blur and her hearing also got lower. My parents and uncle did everything to keep her happy. sometimes she got angry like we''re not talking enough care of her but we know she got older and her memory also got weaker. I was her favorite grandson. Whenever she got angry my parents ask me to talk to her so she could calm down. It''s been a year. I miss her.

This had me in tears. Reminded me of my own dad who passed away last year at the age of 83. Because of his health I moved back to my childhood home to look after him (he was a widower) but when I was at work, I often wondered what he was doing. Almost a year has passed and I still greet him when I''m home and announce when I''m heading to work.
