“我们拒绝庇护你，因为我们也不是啥好人”

据英国《每日邮报》报道，英国内政部以一封带有“令人难以置信的攻击性”的信件拒绝了一名基督教皈依者的庇护申请，这封信件中引用了《圣经》中血腥的段落来证明基督教并不是一个和平的宗教。

这名伊朗人曾在2016年申请庇护，但遭到拒绝。内政部官员表示，他从伊斯兰教改信基督教与他所称的基督教是和平宗教“不一致”，他强调了圣经中的暴力段落。

这封拒签信中列出了六段文字，并声称《启示录》充满了'images of revenge, destruction, death and violence.'。

移民案件工作人员史蒂文斯(Nathan Stevens)在推特上发布了这封信的节选，并说他读到这封信里“unbelievably offensive diatribe”时，他感到“genuinely shocked”。

他补充道：“Whatever your views on faith, how can a government official arbitrarily
pick bits out of a holy book and then use them to trash someone's
heartfelt reason for coming to a personal decision to follow another
faith.”

拒签信还引用了旧约《The Book of Leviticus》的部分内容。

with your claim that you converted to Christianity after discovering it
is a 'peaceful religion, as opposed to Islam which contains violence,
rage and revenge.”

史蒂文斯在推特上补充道，他的当事人将“appealing the decision”，他也将“complaining to the Home Office.”

disbelief' among the officials that make these life-or-death asylum
decisions.”

“This case seems to be an
extreme example of an individual official manufacturing a reason to
refuse an asylum claim, and the Home Office acknowledges that it was out
of line, but those working with asylum seekers do report horror stories
almost as bad on a regular basis.”
