You''re still not going to sound correct when speaking Japanese. And I could be wrong, but it doesn''t seem that Portuguese has a pitch accent from what I''ve read. It''s something entirely new you''d have to learn and it can be quite difficult.

@Ben Bisogno I understand what you mean, but pitch accent isn''t the most important thing to master (although I think everyone learning japanese should at least work on it a little), and korean has the exact same factor of pitch accent. Also my op was more in regards to phonology. but agreed pitch accent can be tricky to get for most foreign ears.

I chose S.korean because i really love the spoken language, the nature and climate is similar to Sweden, where i grew up, i wanted something different but familiar enough that i didn''t get lost.

I did study a bit Japanese cuz the written language is pretty. But S.Korea really spoke to me on a deeper level.

I had old family that got sent from Sweden as nurses to heal the wounded in the Korean war during the 50s. That history means a lot to me. Not so much pride, rather humbled.

My father used to travel to S.korea when I was little, and bring gifts when he came back. And i always thought their flag was the prettiest when i used to look in the world Atlas as a child. S.Korea was always with me, and i decided it was the place for me.

我之所以选择韩语，是因为我非常喜欢韩语的口语，韩国这里的自然和气候与我成长的瑞典很相似，我想要一些不同但又足够熟悉的东西，这样我就不会迷路。

我确实学了一点日语，因为日语书写起来很漂亮。但韩国真的在更深层次上吸引我了。

我家里有一位老人，在50年代的朝鲜战争中，从瑞典被派来当护士来医治伤员，这段历史对我意义重大。与其说是骄傲，不如说是谦卑。

我父亲小时候常去韩国旅游，回来时带礼物。当我小时候看世界地图时，我一直认为他们的国旗是最漂亮的。韩国一直和我在一起，我觉得那是适合我的地方。 0
