China Coast Guard Conducts Routine Law-enforcement Patrols in the Waters East of China’s Taiwan Island

中国海警局新闻发言人姜略表示，6月1日，中国海警岱山舰编队位中国台湾岛以东海域依法开展执法巡查。这是针对日本和菲律宾单方面宣布启动中国台湾岛以东海域划界谈判、严重侵犯中国领土主权和海洋权益采取的必要行动。我们敦促日菲立即停止一切侵害中国主权权益的非法行动。中国海警将持续加强有关海域管控，以实际行动坚决维护国家领土主权和海洋权益。

On June 1, Jiang Lue, spokesperson for the China Coast Guard, stated that the China Coast Guard (CCG) task group led by CCGS Daishan conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in accordance with the law in the waters east of China’s Taiwan island. This is a necessary operation in response to the announcement by Japan and the Philippines on their own, to begin negotiations on maritime delimitation in the waters east of China’s Taiwan island, which seriously infringed upon China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. We urge Japan and the Philippines to immediately cease all illegal acts that undermine China’s sovereign rights and interests. The CCG will continue to strengthen control and management over relevant waters and take real actions to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
