美两院通过法案：法律禁止出现“东方人”一词

又是美国典型的&政治正确&，Oriental 这个词除了美国以外根本没有啥贬义的意思，像东方酒店(Oriental Hotel)，东方日报(Oriental daily)等等到处都能见到，何必这么玻璃心去在乎这些呢。
我查了一下这个词的来源：
UK (and most places elsewhere): Normal, politically correct way of referring to people of East Asian descent. In Britain, the term Asian usually refers to people of South Asian descent (i.e. Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, etc.)
意思就是说Oriental 在世界各地通常用来指中国和日本这些远东国家和民族。Asian 通常用来表示印度，巴基斯坦等南亚地区的国家和民族。
